Capt. Dave Gibboney
has been fishing in Southwest Florida waters for over 25 years, from Punta Gorda, Charlotte Harbor, south along the pristine beaches and backwaters of Boca Grande, Cayo Costa, Cabbage Key, Captiva & Sanibel Islands, Matlacha, Caloosahatchee, Ft. Myers Beach, Estero Bay, to The Everglades & Key West.
Capt. Dave Gibboney is United States Coast Guard licensed and approved to guide you professionally, & safely through your fishing or boating adventure. He has fished in many of the local tournaments, which are usually sponsored for the benefit of United Way, Big Brothers & Sisters, Take a Kid Fishing Day, & Ladies Fishing Day.
Boat & tackle: You will fish on his Action Craft Flats Boat, equipped with a Yamaha 150 h.p. Inshore outboard motor, 82 lb. thrust, 24 volt Motorguide trolling motor, dual live wells, with back up pumps to assure lively bait for the duration of the fishing experience, push pole for stalking those redfish, snook, tarpon, & spotted seatrout. The safety equipment is all up to U.S.C.G. standards, VHF radio, & cell phone is always in working order. Theres a cooler always full of ice for storing cold drinks, & the days lunch or diner. The fishing takle is all top notch such as Fin-Nor reels, Quantum reels and rods, G Loomis, Power Pro, the best line you can buy, and invisible fluorocarbon leaders, which have been proven to catch more fish. Capt. Gibboney also uses only circle hooks, which allows for cleaner releases of the fish which are too big to keep.
What to bring: You will need to wear clothes which are cool & fast drying for those hot summer days. You will need sun block to keep from getting sunburn. You should bring a hat, & your sunglasses should be polarized to see the fish better. Bring whatever you would like to eat & drink, the captain will supply the water and ice. Wear comfortable shoes, preferably non slip soles (boats get slippery). You may need a light jacket if the weather dictates. Bring your camera, video camera & binoculars, as there is plenty of local wildlife to see & photograph. Please be careful with your expensive cameras, or even use a disposable camera, which take very good pictures. Fishing licenses are supplied by Capt. Dave. If you are going on a picnic outing, don't forget your swim suit, football, Frisbees, maybe some ziplock bags for shells you may collect to take home.
